1. Who we are and scope
AMT Technologies ("AMT Technologies", "we", "us" or "our") develops and publishes BudgetCare, a personal budgeting and expense-management application. This Privacy Policy applies to the BudgetCare Android app, the website at amttech.in, and support or account-deletion communications sent to us.
2. Information we process
Account and authentication information
BudgetCare requires authentication. When you use email/password or Google Sign-In, Firebase Authentication may process your email address, display name, profile image, authentication-provider identifier, Firebase user ID and security-related technical information such as IP address and device/browser information. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication; AMT Technologies does not receive or store your password in the app’s financial database.
Financial and budgeting information stored locally
The app stores information you provide or import, including transaction amount, merchant or narration, date and time, category, notes, income sources, budgets, account balances, currency, review status, merchant categorisation rules and duplicate-detection references. This data is associated with the signed-in account only within a separate local database on that device.
Receipts and PDF statements
When you deliberately share a payment receipt with BudgetCare or choose a supported text-based PDF statement, BudgetCare processes it on your device to extract transactions. The original receipt or statement is not automatically uploaded to AMT Technologies. Extracted transaction fields and relevant source text may remain in the local database so you can review and correct the import. We do not access files you have not selected or shared with the app.
Voice input
If you use voice expense entry, BudgetCare requests microphone access and invokes the speech-recognition service available on your Android device. Depending on your device and recognition provider, audio or a transcript may be processed by that provider under its own privacy terms. BudgetCare receives the recognised text; it does not retain an audio recording. You can deny microphone permission and continue using manual entry.
Subscriptions and purchase verification
Google Play processes subscription purchases and payment details. BudgetCare sends an authenticated purchase token to its verification service so the service can ask Google Play whether a subscription is active. The verification service stores only a one-way hash of the purchase token, the Firebase user ID linked to it and an update timestamp. It does not receive SMS content or the local financial ledger. AMT Technologies does not receive your full card or bank-account details.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, BudgetCare may show local expense confirmations, review reminders and spending summaries. Notification permission and delivery are managed by Android. Notification content is generated from information already available to the app.
Exports
Reports and other exported data leave BudgetCare only when you explicitly choose where to save or share them. The destination you choose may process the exported data under its own privacy terms.
Support and deletion requests
If you contact us, we process the email address and information included in your message so we can respond, verify your request and maintain a reasonable support record.
Website data
This static website does not currently use advertising cookies, analytics trackers, account login or behavioural profiling. Our hosting provider may retain standard server logs such as IP address, request time, requested URL, user agent and security events for operation and abuse prevention.
3. Optional transaction SMS access
Automatic SMS expense tracking is optional and remains off until you consent. When enabled, BudgetCare uses:
- READ_SMS for a user-initiated import of historical transaction messages.
- RECEIVE_SMS to inspect newly received messages for automatic expense tracking.
SMS analysis happens on your device. BudgetCare attempts to keep only completed financial transactions and to reject OTPs, personal messages, promotions, failed transactions and payment requests. Transactions that cannot be classified confidently are sent to the in-app Review queue instead of being silently added.
You can decline SMS access and continue using manual entry, receipt sharing and PDF statement import. You can disable automatic tracking later from More > Manage > Automatic SMS expense tracking or revoke SMS permissions in Android settings. Disabling SMS tracking stops future automatic capture but does not remove expenses already added to your local ledger.
4. Why we use information
| Purpose | Information involved |
|---|---|
| Authenticate and secure your account | Account identifiers and authentication/security data |
| Provide budgeting and financial-health features | Locally stored expenses, budgets, categories, accounts, income and rules |
| Capture expenses from transaction SMS | Transaction-message content and metadata, processed locally after permission |
| Import and review receipts and PDF statements | User-selected content and extracted transaction fields, processed locally |
| Provide and protect paid access | Google Play product and entitlement status, purchase-token hash and Firebase user ID |
| Respond to support and deletion requests | Contact details and request content |
| Protect and operate the website | Limited server and security logs |
Where applicable, we rely on performance of our agreement with you, your consent for optional permissions, our legitimate interests in security and support, and compliance with legal obligations.
6. Storage and retention
- Local financial and SMS-derived data: remains on the device until you delete it, delete your BudgetCare account/data through the app, clear app storage or uninstall the app. Deleting an SMS from your messaging app does not automatically delete an expense already recorded in BudgetCare. Export anything you wish to retain first.
- Authentication account: remains in Firebase Authentication until account deletion, subject to limited security logs and provider retention requirements.
- Subscription verification records: the purchase-token hash, linked Firebase user ID and update timestamp are retained only as needed to prevent purchase misuse, meet billing obligations and resolve support or legal issues.
- Purchase records: are retained by Google Play according to Google’s legal, financial and platform requirements.
- Support/deletion communications: are retained only as reasonably necessary to complete the request, document the outcome, prevent abuse and meet legal requirements.
- Hosting logs: may be retained for a limited operational and security period determined by our hosting configuration and provider.
A deletion request removes account-linked data held by AMT Technologies unless retention is required by law or for fraud prevention. Where information must be retained for dispute resolution, tax, accounting or legal compliance, we isolate it from ordinary product use and retain only what is necessary.
7. Your controls and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, request portability, or withdraw consent. You can:
- Edit or delete financial entries inside BudgetCare.
- Disable automatic SMS tracking in BudgetCare and revoke SMS, microphone or notification permissions in Android settings.
- Export reports before deleting local data.
- Delete your account and associated app data from More > Account & Subscription > Delete account.
- Request deletion outside the app using our account-deletion page.
- Manage or cancel a subscription in Google Play. Account deletion does not automatically cancel a Google Play subscription.
We may ask for reasonable verification before acting on a request. Because AMT Technologies does not hold a cloud copy of your local financial ledger or SMS content, we cannot remotely retrieve or export that data after the app has been removed.
8. Security
We limit access to sensitive data, use platform authentication and separate per-user local databases, exclude BudgetCare app data from Android backup, and use HTTPS for authentication and purchase verification. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Keep your device, Google Account and email account protected with a strong screen lock and multi-factor authentication.
9. Children
BudgetCare is a general personal-finance utility and is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum digital-consent age in their country. We do not knowingly solicit children’s personal information. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information may contact us.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when BudgetCare’s features, service providers or legal obligations change. The revised page will show a new “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or another appropriate channel.
